As Nigerians celebrate Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the occasion of his 64th birthday, President Muhammadu Buhari has described him as a reliable and dedicated deputy, saying that he was proud to have selected the VP as his running mate in 2015. President Buhari, in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said that Osinbajo has given a good account of himself since their journey began in 2015.
President Buhari described Osinbajo as a cool-headed gentleman who puts the interest of Nigeria above other narrow considerations. He said that the VP is a reliable and dedicated deputy who is not only admirably competent, but also exudes confidence and passion in the performance of his job.
The president also described his deputy as very patient politician who demonstrates remarkable intellectual and mental energy in the discharge of his duties, wishing him many more prosperous years and Almighty God’s continued guidance.
President Buhari said: “I’m proud to have selected Osinbajo as my running mate and he has given a good account of himself since our journey began in 2015.”
According to the President, “the Vice President is a cool-headed gentleman who puts the interest of Nigeria above other narrow considerations.”
Speaking further on sterling qualities that define Osinbajo’s personal and leadership style Buhari also noted that the VP demonstrates his intellectual capacity at all times.
“Vice President Osinbajo is an incredibly patient politician who demonstrates remarkable intellectual and mental in the discharge of his duties, ” President Buhari said.
